Watch: Mohammad Amir dismissed Babar Azam for the second time in PSL 2025, during Quetta Gladiators' clash against Peshawar Zalmi in Lahore on Sunday (April 27).
Babar won the toss and put Quetta into bat. Saud Shakeel (32 off 26) and Finn Allen (31 off 16) put up 46 for the first wicket in just 4.3 overs. Rilee Rossouw, Kusal Mendis, and Mark Chapman, each got starts but none was able to go on to get a big score as Quetta finished on 178-7. In the process, they became the first team each of whose top five batters scored more than 25 runs in a PSL innings.
Babar Azam and Saim Ayub came out to open for Peshawar but neither lasted long. Ayub's torrid run continued as he was caught behind in the second over off Faheem Ashraf for five, while Babar was trapped lbw by Amir in the third for 12.
Babar was out to Amir the last time these two sides met this season as well. Then, he had chipped a length ball straight to cover to fall for a duck.
Peshawar collapsed after Babar's wicket, as their fifth wicket fell in the eighth over with just 50 runs on the board.
