Watch: Haris Rauf was smashed for 20 runs in an over during a costly spell for Lahore Qalandars against Multan Sultans in PSL 2025 on Tuesday (April 22).
Searching for their first win of the season, Multan, having opted to bat first, blazed to 79 without loss in the first six overs - the fifth-highest powerplay score in PSL history and this season's best. The record is Islamabad United's 97 against Quetta Gladiators in 2021.
Rauf, brought on to bowl the final powerplay over, was immediately put under pressure. Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan was especially aggressive, greeting him with four, four and a six off his first three balls. Two singles and another four from Yasir Khan compounded the damage, resulting in a 20-run over.
Rauf conceded 34 more across his next two without taking a wicket and didn't complete his quota, leaking 0-54, his worst PSL figures. This surpassed his previous low of 2-52 against Karachi Kings in 2023 and stands as the second-most expensive three-over spell in league history after Peshawar Zalmi's Arshad Iqbal's 0-55 vs Quetta Gladiators in 2023. It is also Rauf's third-worst performance across all T20 cricket.
Multan racked up 228-5 on the board, with Yasir top-scoring with a 44-ball 87.
