Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators: Team news

Peshawar are currently fourth in the points table, and a win would take them level on points with both Lahore and Karachi. Their batting unit is beginning to come together now, with explosive players right down to No.7 complementing skipper Babar Azam, who has begun to kick into gear. If Saim Ayub, who is returning from injury, can get some runs under his belt, they could start to look very dangerous indeed.

On the bowling front, teenage quick Ali Raza has been one of the finds of the season. He has been complemented well by international players Luke Wood and Alzarri Joseph, with Arif Yaqoob leading the spin attack. They are unlikely to make any changes from their last game, unless there are fitness concerns. If any, Bangladesh speedster Nahid Rana might be in the mix to play.

Quetta's resurgence with the ball in their last game was led by Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Amir, whose experience continues to deliver the goods. On the whole, their bowling unit has done well together, with Abrar Ahmed taking the burden of the spin attack. Their fifth and sixth bowling options remain slightly worrying, though, between Faheem Ashraf, Saud Shakeel and Mark Chapman. They have tinkered multiple times with the personnel – Kyle Jamieson, Ali Majid, Akeal Hosein and Usman Tariq have played on and off.

They haven't had a consistent scorer through the season, but have found different contributors each time – if they can get a couple more to do so, QG have the ability to out-bat any opponent. If there are any changes, they will most likely be in the bowling department.

      PZ vs QG: Match prediction

Neither team has been able to find consistency so far this season, with two wins from five and four games respectively. Both are coming off wins, although Quetta were perhaps a tad lucky with the way Karachi imploded last time out. These two sides met a couple of weeks ago in Rawalpindi, and that match saw the Gladiators win by a massive 80 runs – that result could give them a psychological edge at least.
