Lahore sit third in the points table with two wins from five matches. They are likely to stick with Asif Ali as opener despite his failure against Peshawar Zalmi. In the bowling department, Mohammad Azab – who replaced the out-of-form Zaman Khan after he leaked runs and went wicketless in two matches – may retain his place despite failing to impress in the last game. Left-arm pacer Jahandad Khan is another option they could consider to strengthen their attack.
Multan, meanwhile, are teetering at the bottom of the points table, having lost four of their five matches. Their sole win, however, came in the reverse fixture against Lahore on April 22. Yasir Khan’s addition at the top of the order in the last two matches has been a welcome move, providing them with brisk starts.
The biggest reason for their underwhelming season so far has been the misfiring of their foreign contingent. In the domestic contingent, they have tinkered with the lineup, giving Mohammad Hussnain, Tayyab Tahir, and Shahid Aziz a match each – without any significant success.
Both sides have made two changes each. For the Qalandars, Tom Curran and Mohammad Naeem replace Rishad Hossain and Mohammad Azab. Meanwhile, the Sultans have brought in Shai Hope and Akif Javed in place of Tayyab Tahir and Usama Mir.
