This year's player draft took place on January 13, and there have been concerns about player availability given the PSL's clash with the IPL for the first time ever. Despite that, there have been more than a few solid signings made by PSL clubs.

Islamabad United

Who's in?

Defending champions Islamabad United retained eight players ahead of this season, only one of them overseas (Colin Munro). They have roped in the likes of Matthew Short, Jason Holder and USA wicketkeeper Andries Gous for this year, along with domestic performers Muhammad Shahzad and Sahibzada Farhan.

Who's out?

The foreign contingent has been turned over almost completely. Alex Hales, Jordan Cox, Tom Curran, Matthew Forde, Obed McCoy and Tymal Mills were all released, as was recently-recalled Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf.

Shadab Khan (c), Matthew Short, Naseem Shah, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Jason Holder, Haider Ali, Salman Ali Agha, Ben Dwarshuis, Salman Irshad, Colin Munro, Andries Gous, Rumman Raees, Mohammad Nawaz, Hunain Shah, Saad Masood, Riley Meredith, Rassie van der Dussen, Muhammad Shahzad, Sahibzada Farhan.

Karachi Kings

Who's in?

Two big names in particular – Kane Williamson and new skipper David Warner. Along with the likes of James Vince and Tim Seifert, Karachi now have a star-studded top order. Ben McDermott has been picked as replacement for the injured Litton Das, while Aamir Jamal and Khushdil Shah are new entrants as well.

Who's out?

Kieron Pollard is the biggest name to leave Karachi's roster, with Jamie Overton also gone after he secured an IPL deal. On the domestic front, Karachi will be without the experience of Shoaib Malik, with Mir Hamza and Mohammad Nawaz also departing.

Lahore Qalandars

Who's in?

Daryl Mitchell was overlooked by IPL franchises, and could be the PSL – and Lahore Qalandars' – gain. English wicketkeeper Sam Billings is also a solid pickup. LQ also secured the signing of Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, and Sri Lankan opener Kusal Perera.

Who's out?

Most notably, Rashid Khan, who is at the IPL. George Linde and Shai Hope are also solid players that have left LQ, while Sahibzada Farhan, currently in red-hot form, has also left the side.

Shaheen Afridi (c), Fakhar Zaman, Daryl Mitchell, Haris Rauf, Kusal Perera, Sikandar Raza, Abdullah Shafique, Jahandad Khan, Zaman Khan, Asif Afridi, Asif Ali, David Wiese, Muhammd Akhlaq, Rishad Hossain, Mohammad Azab, Momin Qamar, Mohammad Naeem, Sam Billings, Salman Ali Mirza, Tom Curran.

Multan Sultans

Who's in?

Michael Bracewell is a massive coup for the PSL, given his recent form in white-ball cricket. Newly-capped Pakistan quick Akif Javed has also joined MS, along with Gudakesh Motie, Josh Little and Ubaid Shah, brother of Naseem.

Who's out?

Johnson Charles, Reeza Hendricks and Dawid Malan – clearing up a top-order logjam. Khushdil Shah and Abbas Afridi could also be big losses, while Reece Topley is off at the IPL.

Multan Sultans squad for PSL 2025

Mohammad Rizwan (c), Michael Bracewell, Usama Mir, David Willey, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Khan, Chris Jordan, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, Akif Javed, Gudakesh Motie, Josh Little, Faisal Akram, Tayyab Tahir, Ubaid Shah, Shahid Aziz, Ashton Turner.

Peshawar Zalmi

Who's in?

Corbin Bosch was – until he ditched the PSL to play for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Explosive Australian opener Mitchell Owen is in though, as is Maaz Sadaqat – who forms an exciting trio of youngsters alongside retained players Ali Raza and Sufiyan Muqeem. South African all-rounder George Linde will also represent Peshawar this year, as will exciting Bangladesh speedster Nahid Rana.

Who's out?

PZ's main losses have come in the pace department – all-rounders Aamer Jamal and Paul Walter as well as Naveen-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Lungi Ngidi and Mohammad Zeeshan. Noor Ahmad is also out, having signed for IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Babar Azam (c), Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, George Linde, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Haris, Abdul Samad, Hussain Talat, Nahid Rana, Arif Yaqoob, Najeebullah Zadran, Max Bryant, Mehran Mumtaz, Sufiyan Muqeem, Ali Raza, Maaz Sadaqat, Ahmed Daniyal, Alzarri Joseph, Mitchell Owen, Luke Wood.

Quetta Gladiators

Who's in?

43-year-old Shoaib Malik, for starters. Opener Finn Allen could have a point to prove after being snubbed by IPL franchises, and countryman Mark Chapman has joined him at Quetta. U19 star quick Mohammad Zeeshan has also made the move to Quetta, from Peshawar Zalmi.

Who's out?

Opener Jason Roy and West Indian middle-order batter Sherfane Rutherford, with the latter playing at the IPL. Sarfaraz Ahmed is also no longer part of the Quetta squad.
