Islamabad United batter Sahibzada Farhan smashed his first Pakistan Super League hundred, and his fourth in T20 cricket in the last month, during today's (April 14) PSL match against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi.
First PSL hundred for Sahibzada Farhan
Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. Farhan, who was picked in the Supplementary category by Islamabad United days ahead of the start of PSL 2025 after going unsold in the draft in January, came out to open the batting with USA batter Andries Gous.
Following Gous' run out in the second over, Farhan added a mammoth 144 runs along with Colin Munro for the second wicket. In the process, he reached his sixth T20 hundred, off 49 balls. Having reached the milestone off the first ball of the 13th over, Farhan had a chance to go real big, but was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph in the next over for 106 off 52 balls.
His knock, coming at a strike rate of 203.84, included 13 fours and five sixes. Islamabad United finished with 243-5 in their 20 overs.
Red-hot form continues
This was Farhan's fourth T20 hundred in the space of a month. The 29-year-old right-hander had made three hundreds in a record-breaking National T20 Cup where he scored 605 runs at an average of 121 and strike rate of 190. His blistering form in the T20 competition got him a late PSL deal. Overall, Farhan has six hundreds in the format now, averaging 35.11 and striking at 137.11.

What is Farhan's international record?
Farhan has played nine T20Is for Pakistan, but has not managed to set the stage on fire so far, scoring only 86 runs at a strike rate of 95.55. He made his T20I debut way back in 2018, while his last outing in Pakistan green came late last year against Zimbabwe.
Farhan has not been a regular at the PSL as well. His first season was in 2018 with Islamabad United for whom he played till 2019. He then had stints with Karachi Kings in 2022 and Lahore Qalandars in 2024, but none of them were particularly fruitful.
Back with Islamabad United, Farhan, now in a different zone as a T20 batter, looks set to turn a corner.
