Mohammad Rizwan carried his bat with an unbeaten 44 as Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 89 against Quetta Gladiators in Tuesday's (April 29) PSL 2025 match.
Batting first in Lahore, the Sultans slumped to 37-5, with Khurram Shahzad claiming four of those wickets (4-23). His fiery spell crippled the innings, as Multan were skittled for just 89 in 17 overs. Multan's 89 is the third-lowest total in PSL history while batting first, behind Lahore Qalandars' 78 (2019) and 59 (2017).
Mohammad Wasim Jr (2-18) and Faheem Ashraf (2-21 off three overs) provided strong support to Shahzad. Rizwan, the season’s leading run-scorer so far, fought a lone battle for Multan with an unbeaten 44 off 44 balls as opener but ran out of partners.
As a result, Rizwan became only the ninth batter to carry his bat in the history of T20s. Only two other players from Full Member nations have achieved this: Chris Gayle (West Indies vs Sri Lanka, 2009) and Litton Das (Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, 2024).

The Gladiators made light work of the target, taking just 41 deliveries to gun it down without any loss of wickets. Captain Saud Shakeel (42 not out off 20 balls) and Finn Allen (45 not out off 21) starred in the chase.
This was the fastest run-chase in terms of balls faced in a full 20-over PSL game. The previous record was off 60 balls when Islamabad United chased Quetta Gladiators' 134-run target in 2021.
