Watch: Jomel Warrican replicated Sajid Khan’s celebration, which the latter had whipped out after dismissing the bowler earlier in the Test, after guiding West Indies to a memorable win against Pakistan today (January 27).
The West Indies’ long wait for a Test match win in Pakistan ended when Warrican sent back Sajid early on Monday. Pakistan, chasing 253 runs for a series win in the second Test at Multan, were reduced to 76-6 before Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan put up a fight. However, Pakistan lost the two in quick succession, leaving the hosts reeling.
Sajid, who walked out at No.9, was the last to be dismissed after he pressed forward against a flatter delivery on the off-side. He managed to get an under-edge as the ball bounced on the stumps, giving the West Indies a 120-run victory, and Warrican his second Test five-wicket haul.
Warrican was jubilant in his celebrations: he waved four fingers in front of his face, mimicking Sajid’s reaction from earlier in the game. Then, Sajid sent back Warrican with a delivery that spun in sharply, before he proceeded to imitate WWE star John Cena’s “You can’t see me” celebration.
Warrican also went on to do a “thigh-five”, Sajid’s trademark celebration every time he picks up a wicket, slapping his own thigh with an open hand.
Warrican finished with a match-haul of nine wickets in the game and was adjudged the Player of the Match and Player of the Series for picking up 19 wickets in four innings as well as scoring crucial runs down the order.
