Noman Ali took a hat-trick today, in Pakistan's second Test match of the series against West Indies in Multan. In doing so, he went into second place on the list of oldest players ever to take a Test hat-trick.
West Indies were already in trouble on day one, having lost four wickets in the first 11 overs of play. Mikyle Lewis was caught behind in the second over of the day to give Kashif Ali a wicket in his first over on debut, before Amir Jangoo was dismissed in the next over. Noman then trapped Kraigg Brathwaite in the 10th over, and Sajid Khan dismissed Alick Athanaze in the 11th.
In the following over, Noman ran through the West Indies middle order. Justin Greaves pushed at a turning ball off Noman's fist delivery, and was caught by Babar Azam at slip. Tevin Imlach then came out to bat and was sent back straight away, pre-meditating a sweep and pinned directly in front of the stumps. To seal the hat-trick, Kevin Sinclair got another edge to Babar at slip from his first ball, giving Noman three in three.
