Jomel Warrican picked up 7-32, the best figures by a visiting spinner in men’s Test cricket in Pakistan, during the first Test match at the Multan Cricket Ground.
After being bowled out for 230 in the first Test of the two-match series in Multan, Pakistan hit back to skittle out the West Indies for 137. Noman Ali returned 5-39, Sajid Khan 4-65, and Abrar Ahmed 1-6, making it the fifth consecutive time that the Pakistani spinners shared all ten wickets in an innings on home soil.

Pakistan went to stumps on day two at 109-3, but could add only 48 to that on the third morning. The wrecker-in-chief was Warrican, who claimed seven of the first eight wickets to fall. Having run out Shan Masood early in the innings, he now ran out Khurram Shahzad as well, making it nine dismissals out of nine where he had played a role. Gudakesh Motie then claimed the tenth wicket.
Warrican still finished with 7-32, the best figures by a touring spinner in Pakistan in men’s Test cricket. He went past Phil Edmonds’s 7-66 at Karachi in 1977-78. Across bowling styles, Warrican’s figures are the third-best among visiting bowlers in Pakistan and the best since Ravi Ratnayeke’s 8-83 in 1985-86.
Warrican’s match figures of 10-101 are the fifth ten-wicket haul by overseas bowlers in Pakistan. Only Nick Cook (11-83) and Chris Pringle (11-152) have better figures.
