Naseem Shah hit three sixes against England in the first Test in Multan

Watch: Nightwatch Naseem Shah smashed three sixes in a cameo to notch up his personal best score in all cricket during the first Test between Pakistan and England in Multan.

Naseem came in as a nightwatch on day one after Babar Azam's untimely dismissal for yet another low score and was cautious at the start on day two, reaching just seven runs off his first 41 balls. He finally broke the shackles in the 97th over by hitting Shoaib Bashir for a six. He skipped down the pitch, covered the line of the ball and used his wrists to good effect to tonk it over long on.

Next, Naseem gave Jack Leach the charge in the 103rd over, launching the ball into the stands at midwicket. The third one also came off Leach’s bowling, in his next over: Naseem danced down the ground and played an inside-out shot, hitting the ball for a six over long off. He held his pose in style to relish the gorgeous stroke.

Naseem was eventually dismissed for an 81-ball 33, his highest score across all formats. The dismissal gave Brydon Carse his maiden Test scalp.

After Shan Masood (151) and Abdullah Shafique (102) set the tone of the innings, Pakistan are comfortably placed at 437-6 at the time of writing.
