Watch: Ben Duckett was trapped lbw by a ball that kept extremely low in the first session of the Rawalpindi Test between England and Pakistan.
With the series level at 1-1, England chose to bat first in the decider. The decision backfired as they lost as many as six wickets cheaply, all to the spin duo of Sajid Khan (four) and Noman Ali (two).
The tourists struggled to counter the variable bounce and turn on offer, as evident from Duckett’s dismissal, which came off a ball that kept alarmingly low upon pitching.
Noman, coming from over the wicket, bowled it on a good length. The ball had minimal turn but what surprised Duckett was the low bounce as it rapped him on the ankle around middle and off. The batter looked up shaking his head, before returning to the pavilion for an 84-ball 52.
The spin duo was instrumental in scripting Pakistan’s comeback in the series after picking up all 20 England wickets in the second Multan Test, achieving a rare feat for the first time in 52 years. In Rawalpindi, they continue to dominate the proceedings as well.
At the time of writing, England were 139-6.
