Harry Brook became the first England batter since 1990 to score a Test match triple century on day four against Pakistan in Multan.
Having compiled the most runs ever in an England Test partnership alongside Joe Root, Brook continued on to reach 300 after Root was dismissed 38 runs short of the milestone. Accelerating as England's lead neared 200, Brook reached his triple century in the afternoon session off 310 balls. That makes his innings the second-fastest triple century of all-time by balls faced, short of Virender Sehwag's record of 278 balls.
Brook was eventually dismissed by Saim Ayub for 317, top-edging a sweep to Shan Masood at backward square leg. That puts him fifth on the list of the most runs scored for England in a Test innings, behind Len Hutton (364), Wally Hammond (336*), Graham Gooch (333) and Andy Sandham (325).
