Watch: A day after scoring an unbeaten 171, Mohammad Rizwan plucked out an “absolute rip-snorter” to dismiss Zakir Hasan on day three of the first Pakistan-Bangladesh Test today (August 23).
Pakistan recovered well from 16-2 to post 448-6d in their first innings against Bangladesh. They were led by twin hundreds from Saud Shakeel (141 in 261) and an unbeaten 239-ball 171 by Rizwan as the hosts bounced back in style.
Wicketkeeper Rizwan also played a role in taking Bangladesh’s first wicket in their innings, ending Hasan’s resistance with a stunning catch. In the 17th over, Naseem Shah, who had troubled the opener in his innings by beating his outside edge a few times, sent down a back-of-a-length delivery that angled across. This time, Hasan managed to find contact with the bat, but he could only edge it to the left of Rizwan.

Rizwan kept his eyes on the ball and flew to his left, ending up with a catch off his wrong hand, leaving the commentators amazed, exclaiming, "The man of crisis, who has put his hand up not once but multiple times," and "An absolute rip-snorter."
Bangladesh lost their first wicket for 31 runs as Naseem claimed his first wicket after a year-long injury layoff.
