Watch: Babar Azam rolls over after Shakib foils premeditated sweep

Watch: Babar Azam caused laughter amongst the Bangladesh side today (August 31), when he comically rolled over after Shakib-Al-Hasan foiled his premeditated sweep shot.

Following a washed-out first day, the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh was able to get underway on day two in Rawalpindi. Babar came to the crease when Shan Masood was dismissed when Pakistan were 107-2. Shakib was brought on to bowl to Babar after Lunch, and looked to prevent Babar premeditating his shots right from the off.

Bowling the second ball of his spell, Shakib pulled out of bowling when he was already in his delivery stride, after seeing Babar start to move out wide to deploy the sweep. Babar reacted by leaning on his hands on the ground while down on one knee, with his head bowed in acceptance that his plan had been foiled.

He then rolled over on the ground in disappointment, drawing laughter from Litton Das behind the stumps. When Babar eventually got to his feet to play the next ball, he blocked it off his back foot, sending the ball back to Shakib.

However, off the second ball of the fourth over of Shakib's spell, Babar wasn't as successful playing off the back foot. Playing across the line to a ball the kept low, he missed it completely and was struck on the pad for a plumb lbw dismissal. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 274 towards the end of the evening session. Mehidy Hasan Miraz finished with a five-wicket haul, the tenth of his career, while Babar was the sole wicket Shakib picked up.
