Watch: Shakib Al Hasan jokingly threatened to time out Abrar Ahmed, who was seen rushing to the crease during day four of the second Pakistan-Bangladesh Test in Rawalpindi.

After Litton Das (138) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78) took Bangladesh to 262 from 26-6 in reply to Pakistan's first innings score of 274, the visitors' bowlers continued to script their remarkable turnaround. Pakistan were skittled out for 172 in the second innings, courtesy of Hasan Mahmud (5-43) and Nahid Rana (4-44). That was also the first time Bangladesh pacers took all 10 wickets in an innings.

However, amid the spirited bowling performance, a hilarious subplot unfolded in the middle, leaving everyone in splits. With Pakistan reduced to 136-8, No.10 Abrar came out to bat. He was seen rushing to the crease to apparently avoid a time-out dismissal, dropping one of his gloves and struglling to adjust the rest of his gear.

The incident left everyone laughing, including Shakib Al Hasan, who sparked controversy when he timed out Sri Lanka’s Angelo Mathews during the 2023 ODI World Cup.

According to MCC’s Laws of Cricket, “Timed out” is a mode of dismissal when a batter fails to take the strike within three minutes upon the dismissal or retirement of a batter.
