Pakistan lost the Test series 2-0 to Bangladesh - here are the player ratings for the home team.
Abdullah Shafique - 2/10
42 runs @ 10.50, HS: 37
The opener had three scores in single digits, taking his average at home to 36.57. The last time Shafique made a fifty at home was in the Rawalpindi Test against England in December 2022.
Saim Ayub: 5/10
135 runs @ 33.75, HS: 58
Ayub was the only batter from Pakistan to make two fifties in the series. He started with a 98-ball 56 in the first Test and was the top scorer for the side in the first innings of the second Test.
Shan Masood: 3/10
105 runs @ 26.25, HS: 57
Masood’s captaincy came under the scanner for his decision to pick four seamers in the first Test. His field placings were also uninspiring, with the ball often edging past the non-existent third slip on the morning of day five in the second Test. He made a counter-attacking 57 in the second Test, living up to his approach, but the team wanted more from their skipper.
Babar Azam: 2/10
64 runs @ 16, HS: 31

A disaster series for the former captain both on the field and with the bat.
Saud Shakeel: 5/10
159 runs @ 39.75, HS: 141
Shakeel made 141 in the first innings of the first Test but could only make 18 runs in the next three innings. However, his hundred came when his team was under pressure and had collapsed to 16-3. He fought hard, faced 261 balls and stitched together a mammoth stand with Mohammad Rizwan.
Mohammed Rizwan: 9/10
294 runs @ 98, HS: 171*
The best batter from Pakistan in the series. His unbeaten 171 came in challenging conditions in the first Test and he followed it up with a fifty in the next innings. He was the only Pakistan batter to make more than 37 as his teammates crumbled against spin.
Agha Salman: 6/10
120 runs @ 40, HS: 54
3 wickets @ 58.33, BBI: 2-13
More than Salman’s batting, his part-time off-spin was in the news this series. In the absence of a spinner in the first Test, he sent down a total of 42.3 overs, including 41 in the first innings. In the second innings of the second Test, he played a handy knock and took Pakistan to a competitive total.
Mohammad Ali: 2/10
3 wickets @ 72.50, BBI: 2-88
Ali was unable to find much assistance and had the worst average among all seamers in his team.
Abrar Ahmed: 2/10
1 wicket @ 123, BBI: 1-40
Abrar was missed in the first Test as the pitch became slower. However, he could not make much of an impact in the second game he played. He offered width to the batters and struggled with his lengths.
Mir Hamza: 5/10
3 wickets @ 32, BBI: 2-50
Hamza opened the bowling in the second game and was threatening with the new ball, dismissing Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim in the space of two overs. He also got an early wicket in the second innings and was impressive in patches, with a couple of missed chances due to the lack of a slip fielder.
Naseem Shah: 3/10
3 wickets @ 33.33, BBI: 3-93
Naseem, on his red-ball comeback in the first Test, failed to create any magic and was rested from the next game.
Shaheen Afridi: 2/10
2 wickets @ 48, BBI: 2-88
Shaheen carried on his indifferent form in the first Test and it took him 28 overs to pick up his first wicket. He did not play the next game with coach Jason Gillespie saying the team wanted the quick to be at his “very best.”
Khurram Shahzad: 8/10
9 wickets @ 24.44, BBI: 6-90
In the absence of senior fast bowlers, Shahzad took on the responsibility with ease, scalping 6-90 in the first innings of the second Test. His lethal new ball spell reduced Bangladesh to 26-6.
