Watch: Rookie Pakistan quick Ihsanullah made heads turn with an incredible five-for in PSL 2023, finishing with figures of 5-12 for Multan Sultans against Quetta Gladiators.
It marked another highlight in what has been a dream half a year for the 20-year-old. Insanullah’s five-for came on the back of stellar performances in the 2022/23 Pakistan Cup. Playing for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he finished with 25 wickets at 19.96, the second-most in the competition. His white-ball exploits have been slowly gathering pace, but he’s also had a decent start to his first-class career since his debut in September last year.
In seven first-class matches, he’s picked up 22 wickets at 28.22, with one five-wicket haul. The five-for came against Northern last October, when Ihsanullah razed through their middle order as a first-change bowler in the 2022/23 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He finished with figures of 14-3-70-5.
Insanullah ended with the most wickets for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the 2022/23 edition, and the sixth-most by any bowler overall.
