Watch: Mohammad Wasim Jr nailed a rapid yorker in the 16th over to castle Haseebullah Khan‘s middle stump in Islamabad United’s clash against Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), today (March 12, 2023).

Having been put into bat, Peshawar Zalmi had got off to a great start, with the scoreboard reading 69-1 after the powerplay, and 116-1 after the 10 over mark. Another 200-plus total seemed imminent. But they lost their way soon after, losing a wicket in each of the next four overs.

However, at 145-5 after 14 overs, they still had a more than decent chance to stage a recovery and breach the 200-run mark, thanks to the brilliant start given by the top order. Mohammad Wasim Jr had other plans though. Coming on to bowl the 16th over, he honed in on the stumps and delivered yorker after yorker.

It took him five attempts to nail it. Haseebullah Khan, the young wicketkeeper. had made room and sliced the previous ball through backward point for a boundary. But he had no answer to this one. He tried to clear his legs and dig the thunderbolt of a yorker out but failed. The speed gun clocked it at 143.9kph.

After that, it was all downhill for Peshawar Zalmi as they managed to score just 20 more runs in their remaining four overs to end with a sub-par total of 179. Wasim Jr finished with figures of 1-31 off his four overs, giving just 12 runs in his last two.
