Watch: Multan Sultans’ Mohammad Rizwan raced away to 110* in 64 deliveries, hitting four sixes, including three in the space of six deliveries during a whirlwind knock against Karachi Kings in the 2023 Pakistan Super League.
Rizwan, who has scored three fifties in his last four PSL knocks, carried forward his form and registered his second T20 hundred – and his first in the PSL – on Wednesday. Opening the innings, Rizwan took his time in the first half of his innings, bringing up his fifty off 41 deliveries as Multan reached 111-1 in 14 overs.
He changed gears soon after, hitting two fours off Shoaib Malik, and then proceeded to smash four more fours and a six in the next 13 deliveries. Rilee Rossouw was on strike for the first ball of the penultimate over, with Rizwan needing 14 more for his hundred. The South Africa batter ran one, leaving Rizwan to face Akif Javed for the last five balls.
The first delivery was flicked away over deep backward square, fetching the slower ball from around the off-stump. The next ball was a wide, and Rizwan made the most of the re-bowled delivery with a loft over long-off for another six.
Rizwan reached his hundred off 60 balls after running a two, taking only 18 deliveries to score his second 50 runs. He ended the innings on a high as he stepped out on the first ball of the last over, sending Mohammad Umar over long-off, to end on an unbeaten 110 in 64 deliveries.
