Watch: Hassan Ali decided to have some fun as rain interrupted the second day’s play between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Only 10 overs were possible on Tuesday (July 27) in Colombo with heavy showers stalling proceedings. Ali, who is not playing the Test, decided to break the monotony of being confined to the dressing room, as he ventured out into the field while it was raining; playing, sliding and posing even as it poured.
At first, he helped the groundstaff put on the covers on the ground, before sneaking under them and covering himself up with the blue sheet. He also decided to run on the wet covers at full pace and slid down on the pool of water before enacting Yuzvendra Chahal’s famous ‘lying’ pose in one motion.
Pakistan currently lead the Test by 12 runs, after bowling out the hosts for 166 in the second Test.

This is not the first time that an international player let out his inner child during a downpour, with Shakib Al Hasan also doing a water slide in 2021, against Pakistan. Incidentally, Ali was a part of the Test and could have taken inspiration from the Bangladesh all-rounder, as he let out his excitement.
