Watch: Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Mohammad Rizwan with a sharp nip-backer that sent the Pakistan opener’s off-stump cartwheeling during the first T20I at Dhaka on Friday.
Mustafizur Rahman got the vital wicket of Mohammad Rizwan on the fourth ball of the third over with a brilliant delivery that pierced the batter’s bat and pad. Rizwan pushed forward in defence but did not account for the movement as the ball, which came in sharply, went through the gap to dismantle his off-stump.
After scoring just 127-7 in the first innings, Bangladesh needed a quick wicket to stay in the game, which is what Mustafizur provided. Rizwan, who had a stellar T20 World Cup, where he scored 79*, 33, 8, 79*, 15, and 67, was dismissed for a run-a-ball 11 in the first T20I against Bangladesh.
However, Mustafizur’s day would end poorly. Bangladesh reduced Pakistan to 96-6 with three overs to bat, leaving 32 runs needed, but a 15-run over from the Bangladesh quick got the chase restarted again. Pakistan ended up victorious by four wickets with four balls to spare.
