Bangladesh did not have the best outing in the T20 World Cup, losing all five games in the Super 12 stage. They qualified from Round 1, but could not make the most of their chances. Pakistan, on the other hand, won all five games in the first round to top Group 2. However, they were knocked out by eventual champions Australia in the semifinal clash.
The hosts have made a number of changes to the squad that played in the recent multi-national event. Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Rubel Hossain have not been included in the squad, while Shakib Al Hasan misses out due to a hamstring injury. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Saifuddin will be unavailable for the entire series as well.
Pakistan, on the other hand, travel with a similar squad that played in the T20 World Cup. The only exclusion is Mohammad Hafeez, who has opted for rest. Iftikhar Ahmed has replaced him in the touring party.
