Warner, playing his last Test series, walked off to a rousing reception from the MCG crowd after being dismissed for one final time in Test cricket at the venue today (December 28).
Pakistan started day three on 194-6 and were bowled out for 264 before lunch, forcing the Australian openers to walk out to bat for a short period. Australia suffered an early collapse in their second innings as they stumbled to 16-4, their worst start at the MCG in over a 100 years.
4-16 is the worst start for AUS in a Test innings at the @MCG since 1911 (4-11 v ENG)

Warner was one of the casualties of the collapse as he chopped on a Mir Hamza delivery trying to pull it from outside off stump. He was out for six off 16 balls, having hit one four. As he walked back to the pavilion, Warner was greeted with loud applause and a standing ovation from the MCG crowd.
The left-hander also gave his batting gloves away to a kid in the stands as he was about to enter the tunnel heading to the dressing room.

With this knock, Warner finished his Test career at the MCG with 912 runs from 18 innings at an average of 50.66 and three hundreds to his name. Warner’s international debut had also come at the same venue, when he first played a T20I for Australia on January 11, 2009, against South Africa.
