After conceding a lead at home for the first time in 15 Tests, Australia bounced back in fine fashion, reducing Pakistan to 68-7 to end with a deficit of 82. After the visitors were reduced to 60-4, Hazlewood wreaked havoc in the penultimate over of play, picking up three wickets in alternate deliveries to leave the visitors reeling.

On the first ball, Hazlewood ventured fuller outside the off-stump to Saud Shakeel, who lazily drove away from his body. He managed an outside edge straight into the hands of Steve Smith at first slip. Two balls later, Hazlewood dismissed Sajid Khan, brought on as a nightwatchman for Agha Salman, with a stunning nip-backer. The ball by Hazlewood came in and Sajid was late to get his bat down as it went through his bat-pad to rattle the off-stump.

Hazlewood was up in celebration two balls later again when he had Agha Salman with a thick outside edge after the batter defensively pushed away a delivery outside the off stump.

The over read W, 0, W, 0, W, 0 and sent Pakistan into chaos as they saw their advantage slip away.
