Shoaib Bashir plays for Somerset in the One Day Cup

The One Day Cup group stage is heading towards its crux point, with only four matches left in each group until the playoff spots are confirmed.

Three teams have already secured qualification, with Somerset the only side already safe in Group A and Glamorgan and Warwickshire safe in Group B. Eight sides have also already been eliminated, leaving six teams competing to secure qualification.

As a recap, three sides from each group goes through. The second-placed team in each group plays at home against the third-placed team in the other, and the winner of each plays one of the top teams at their home ground.

Who are the favourites in Group A?

With Somerset qualified, Worcestershire, Durham, Hampshire and Derbyshire can still secure a spot in the knockouts. The most likely of these sides to qualify is Worcestershire, who currently sit second in the table on 10 points. They will play bottom-placed and already eliminated Lancashire on Wednesday (August 12), and will qualify if they win that game. They are understandably favourites to win that match, priced at a 1.6 return on every for every pound betted on Stake.

The most interesting clashes are Durham v Derbyshire and Hampshire v Middlesex, with three of those sides in those battling it out for qualification. Durham are currently the only side on nine points, and will also qualify if they win. If they lose, they will need to hope Hampshire lose to Middlesex. Hampshire are currently the favourites to win that clash, but with Middlesex priced at 2.05 on Stake, and Hampshire at 1.75, Middlesex might be the smart choice to back even though they have already been eliminated.

Derbyshire are only a point behind Durham on eight points, but are currently out of the qualification spots and have an inferior NRR to Hampshire (also on eight points). If Derbyshire beat Durham then they will move to 10 points, and secure qualification if Hampshire lose to Middlesex. If Hampshire beat Middlesex, it will come down to NRR. While Durham are the favourites for the clash, with only one point separating them and priced at 2.1 on Stake, Derbyshire could be worth a bet to qualify.

Who are the favourites in Group B?

Group B is less wide open, with both Glamorgan and Warwickshire already qualified, leaving only one spot to play for. However, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Yorkshire still have a spot to play for.

The Leicestershire v Gloucestershire clash is the most interesting of the remaining fixtures, with both sides currently sitting third and fourth in the table respectively. A win would see Leicestershire top the group if both Glamorgan and Warwickshire lose. If Gloucestershire lose, they will not be able to qualify. If they win it will come down to net run rate, and theirs is currently better than Leicestershire's and Yorkshire's. Gloucestershire are priced at 2.3 on Stake to win that match.

Yorkshire could also still qualify, but will need to beat current table toppers Glamorgan (priced at 2.2 on Stake) hope Gloucestershire beat Leicestershire, and boost their NRR above both those sides. If they do beat Glamorgan they will also need to improve their NRR beyond Leicestershire's and keep it above Gloucestershire's if they win their clash.

Any other odds?

GGBet have the best odds for Yorkshire to beat Glamorgan and potential throw a spanner into the Group B works, they're priced at 2.08.

PariMatch has the best odds for a Nottinghamshire win against Warwickshire, priced at 2.24.
