New Zealand rose to fourth place in the ICC men’s T20I rankings after their 4-1 series win against Pakistan.
New Zealand won two T20Is on either side of Pakistan’s record chase in the third game to clinch the five-match series 4-1. They now have 14,367 points and a rating of 248, which enabled them to jump to fourth place in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings. They are marginally ahead of the West Indies and South Africa (247 each).
Pakistan’s rating, on the other hand, dropped from 236 to 235. They remained at seventh place, but their gap with Sri Lanka (232) and Bangladesh (229) reduced, albeit marginally.
With a rating of 269, India continue to sit at the top of the table, followed by Australia (259) and England (254).
The ranks will have no bearing on the qualification for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. For that, 12 teams (including the hosts, India and Sri Lanka) have already qualified, while the others will come from the four qualifiers.
