During the third Test match against England, Kane Williamson hit his seventh Test hundred at Seddon Park in Hamilton. He is now joint-fifth on the list of batters with most hundreds at a single venue.
Despite securing a 204-run lead, New Zealand opted to bat again at Seddon Park. Williamson walked out at 35-1, reached 50 by stumps on the second day, and completed his hundred on the third.
This was his 33rd hundred in Test cricket, 20th in New Zealand, and seventh at Seddon Park. In fact, he has reached fifty 12 times at the venue from 21 innings.
Williamson became the first New Zealand batter to hit seven Test hundreds at a single venue. He went past Ross Taylor, who had hit six tons at the same venue. Williamson also has five hundreds at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, as does Martin Crowe. In all Test cricket, only four batters have more hundreds at a single venue.
Among batters with seven hundreds at a ground, only Don Bradman (1.89 innings/hundred at the MCG) and Michael Clarke (2.43 at the Adelaide Oval) have three-figure scores more often than Williamson (3).
