New Zealand had made two runs from two balls in the first T20I of the five-match series when no further play was possible. However, there was enough time for former Pakistan captain Shaheen to clean bowl debutant Tim Robinson.

Babar Azam won the toss and opted to field in the second T20I. Shaheen struck early again, getting Tim Seifert caught brilliantly by Shadab Khan. New Zealand lost their way during the innings, and were 76-6 when Shaheen ran into to bowl at Cole McConchie.

Bowling from round the wicket, Shaheen unleashed a yorker as McConchie made room to hit the ball through the off-side. The ball hit the ground roughly at the base of the bat and crashed on to leg and middle.

New Zealand were eventually bowled out for 90, their second-lowest total against Pakistan in men’s T20Is as Shaheen finished with 3-13 from 3.1 overs.

At the time of writing, Pakistan were 43-2 in 5.2 overs with Mohammad Rizwan (24) and Usman Khan (1) at the crease.
