Watch: Mohammad Rizwan scored his second fifty in the ODI series against New Zealand, but was unable to convert it to a three-figure score in the third game after misreading a googly by Ish Sodhi.
Walking in to bat with his team in a spot of bother at 21-2, Rizwan batted beautifully, hitting six fours en route to his 77 in 74 deliveries. He combined with Fakhar Zaman to score 154 runs for the third wicket but the partnership ended after Rizwan missed the line of Sodhi’s googly, with the ball going on to dismantle the bails.
The second ball of the 34th over of the innings was bowled quicker by Sodhi on the off stump, and Rizwan crouched and backed away in an attempt to play the late cut. However, he got into an awkward position, falling on his knees instead with the lack of pace proving to be his downfall. He was dismissed for 77 in 74 deliveries.
