The 2022/23 edition of the Sheffield Shield will begin on October 3 — here is the squad and full team lists of all six teams for the Australia’s domestic first-class tournament.
Sheffield Shield 2022/23 is the 121st edition of Australia’s domestic first-class tournament that had started with New South Wales (47 titles), Victoria (32 titles), and South Australia (13 titles) in 1892/93. Queensland (nine titles) joined in 1926/27 and Western Australia (16 titles) in 1947/48, while the six-team structure came into place with the inclusion of Tasmania (three titles) in 1977/78. It has remained a six-team tournament since.
Sheffield Shield will get underway on October 3 this year, with a match between defending champions Western Australia and New South Wales at the WACA Ground in Perth. The teams will play each other in a round robin league, followed by a final, from March 23, 2023.
