Unmukt Chand hits 93 m six in MLC

Watch: Unmukt Chand smashed a huge six during his match-winning fifty for LA Knight Riders against Seattle Orcas in an MLC 2024 match.

Chasing 143 for victory, former India Under-19 captain Unmukt Chand scored a 47-ball 62 to power the Los Angeles Knight Riders to a four-wicket win over the Seattle Orcas. That was Chand’s second half-century in the competition, having scored 68 off 45 balls against the Texas Super Kings earlier.

The knock included three sixes, the highlight of which was a gigantic hit against off-spinner Michael Bracewell in the third ball of the 11th over.

Bracewell, bowling from around the wicket, pitched the ball on middle and leg. Unmukt needed no second invitation to step out of the crease and dispatch the ball over deep mid-wicket. The airborne ball disappeared into the woods in the vicinity of the stadium for a massive six. The aerial distance of the six read as 93 m.

Chand also hit three fours en route to his match-winning knock.

The win helped LAKR to stay in contention for a playoff spot as they are currently fourth on the points table with five points from six games, including a match remaining.
