Watch: Rashid Khan turned a wide yorker into an outstanding six during his blazing fifty in the Major League Cricket (MLC) Eliminator between MI New York and Texas Super Kings at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium.

Several breathtaking shots were the hallmark of his lightning fifty, one of which came off the fourth ball in the 17th over. Pacer Aaron Hardie bowled full way outside off stump, away from Rashid’s arc and close to the tramline. Rashid, batting on 25 off 15 balls, bent his knee and latched onto it with all his might, slicing the ball over deep backward point.

He capped off the over with another sensational hit, this time over mid-wicket while using his malleable wrists with his trademark whip-like bat flow.

Coming in to bat at No.5 in the 11th over with New York at 67-3, Rashid scored a 30-ball 55 to help them post 163-8 on the boards. Rashid's knock which came at a strike-rate of 183.33, included four fours and as many sixes.

In reply, the Super Kings made light work of the target, chasing the total in 18.3 overs at a loss of a wicket. Devon Conway (51 not out off 43), Faf du Plessis (72 off 47), and Hardie (40 not out off 22) all chipped in their valiant batting display.

Rashid was economical with the ball, conceding just 22 off his four overs, but the wicket column had nothing to show.

With the playoff loss, New York’s title defence ended, while the Super Kings remain in the hunt for the final as they await the loser of Qualifier 1 between Washington Freedom and Francisco Unicorns.
