Fielding first after winning the toss at Hove, Sussex bowled Northamptonshire out for 371 in the first innings. Robinson picked 2-67 from 22 overs while Jayden Seales was the pick of the bowlers with 4-86 from his 26.

In response, Sussex piled up 478-9, taking a lead of 107 runs. Tom Haines top-scored with 133 and was supported with fifties by James Coles, Fynn Hudson-Prentice, and Jack Carson. Robinson remained unbeaten on 32 off 29 balls.

Northamptonshire started their second innings on the final day, and were in a spot of bother at 57-4 before Luke Procter and Rob Keogh rescued the innings and took them past the deficit of 107.

Robinson, who had earlier picked the wicket of Karun Nair, was bowling to Ben Sanderson, the No.10 batter towards the end of the day when he delivered a sharp and accurate yorker right at the base of middle stump. It was too good for Sanderson as he was late on it and saw his middle stump knocked out of the ground.

The last pair stuck around for 4.4 more overs before the players shook hands and the match was drawn. Robinson’s second-innings figures read 10-4-19-2, taking his tally to four in the match.
