Watch: A flying gazebo interrupted play at Wantage Road during Northants' County Championship fixture against Derbyshire, requiring several players to assist in removing it from the field.
The incident happened on day two of the penultimate round of the season, and required play to be stopped for several minutes. Derbyshire were fielding having conceded a 54-run first innings deficit when a gazebo promoting Northants in the community became loose and blew onto the pitch.
It settled on the outfield and Derbyshire opener Luis Reece ran over to help remove it from the field. He was soon joined by opening partner Harry Came and several bystanders to carry the structure over the boundary rope so that play could resume.
Northants continued to build a lead on day two despite losing regular wickets. At the time of writing, they are 161-5 after 44 overs with Rob Keogh and Lewis McManus unbeaten on 31 and eight respectively.
