Watch: Shubman Gill played an audacious upper cut stroke off Faheem Ashraf during his whirlwind unbeaten 92-run knock for Glamorgan against Sussex.

Gill, who has been playing for Glamorgan in this year’s County Championship, has been in stunning form lately. He notched up 92 on debut against Worcestershire at Cardiff, and on Monday, he continued in a similar vein. Batting first, he set the tone for Glamorgan and took down the Sussex bowlers. The pick of the shots was a ramp stroke he played off Pakistan all-rounder Ashraf. The ball was dug into the track outside off stump. Gill waited for it to arrive before ramping it over the slip cordon for a six.

The India batter ended the day unbeaten on 92, with his runs coming off just 102 balls. His innings also helped Glamorgan register 221-3 at the end of play on day one at Hove. Considering the form Gill has already shown this summer, Glamorgan would hope that he continues in a similar vein and helps them put up a decent total on the board.
