Watch: Pakistan’s teenage star Naseem Shah cracked a six over mid-on during his County Championship debut for Gloucestershire.
With Rob Keogh delivering his left-arm spin, Naseem stepped away to hit the ball crisply over mid-on for six, with an impressively free swing of the bat.
The Pakistan quick arrived at the wicket with his team struggling on 143-8, but proceeded to show confidence and plenty of skill in scoring 19 runs off 40 balls, a key contribution in Gloucestershire’s low total of 223. He also helped extend the innings and give James Bracey the chance to reach his first century of the 2022 season. Naseem’s 80-run stand with Bracey was Gloucestershire’s only half-century stand of the innings.
Naseem later picked up his first wicket of the Championship season when Emilio Gay edged behind to keeper Bracey, cueing jubilant celebrations from the energetic Pakistani.
