Watch: Sussex’s County Championship encounter against Durham saw the rare sight of Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan bowling medium pace.
As the game petered out towards a draw, Sussex skipper Tom Haines handed the ball over to Rizwan for the last rites. The ungloved gloveman ran in with a short and sprightly run-up before delivering with a slingy action. With the fourth ball of the over Rizwan almost struck, outfoxing David Bedingham by extracting lift from a good length and induced an outside edge, but the ball landed safe.
At the end of the game, Rizwan’s figures read as 2-0-5-0. The game ended in a draw even as Sussex took seven points from it. Earlier in the game, Rizwan shared a 154-run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara, of which his contribution was 79 runs, while he also claimed a stunning catch at slip.
