Watch: Matt Parkinson produced a beauty to dismiss Gloucestershire’s Ryan Higgins first ball as he picked up two wickets in two balls, with Lancashire bowling their way to victory late on day four in the County Championship.

Parkinson was part of the England squad that traveled to the West Indies but did not play during the 1-0 Test series defeat.

The Lancashire spinner has become known for his ability to produce magic balls and furthered his reputation here as Higgins played back to a ball that pitched well outside leg-stump only for it to spin sharply and hit the top of off.

It’s been an excellent start to the season for the highly-rated leggie who has combined his attacking qualities with control. It is often said of leg spinners that they can be very expensive with the ball but Parkinson’s season economy of 2.31 is even lower than his career economy rate of 2.71.
