Watch: Marnus Labuschagne was in his element during the County Championship as he bowled medium pace, bagging a couple of wickets and bowling a string of bouncers – including to fellow countryman James Pattinson.

Labuschagne, the No.1 ranked Test batter in the ICC Rankings, turned to medium pace during Glamorgan’s game against Nottinghamshire. He dismissed centurion Ben Duckett with a length delivery that held in the surface, with the No.3 popping a catch back to the Australian.

Labuschagne also got the better of Tom Moores with a delivery that nipped away slightly, feathering an edge through to the keeper. Having been 263-5 before the wicket of Moores, Labuschagne’s strikes played an important part in restricting Nottinghamshire to a first-innings score of 302. The Australian also produced a short-ball barrage to Pattinson, with one of those deliveries striking the latter on the arm as he tried to take evasive action.

Labuschagne ended his spell with figures of 5-0-11-2. Pat Cummins also took to Twitter and jokingly quipped how Labuschagne would never let his teammates forget about his bowling exploits. However, the right-handed batter endured a tricky time with the bat. He was dismissed LBW while shouldering arms off the third ball he faced.
