Watch: Jayant Yadav castled Somerset nightwatchman Kasey Aldridge with a beauty on his County Championship debut for Warwickshire.
The off-spinner picked up his second wicket in the game and the first of the second innings when he clean bowled Aldridge for a duck. The batter tried to defend the last delivery of the fifth over of the innings, with the ball pitching outside the off-stump, but did not have anticipate the huge turn that would be generated.
Aldridge, who was looking to play the ball on the front foot, saw the ball turn in, before it snuck through his bat-pad gap and onto the stumps. His stay at the crease lasted seven balls.
Besides Jayant’s debut, the game also marks the maiden outing of Mohammed Siraj in county cricket. The fast bowler had a dream first innings, picking up a five-for, and then returned to dismiss Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq for the second time in the game.
Somerset were dismissed for 219 in their first innings, with Warwickshire making 196 in response.
