James Anderson was in red-hot form during Lancashire’s latest fixture against Hampshire in the County Championship, getting James Vince with an inducker during a flawless opening spell for his county.

After his first spell, Anderson’s new-ball figures read 6-4-6-2, with his first wicket being of opener Ian Holland, whom he got caught at third slip off a good length delivery just outside off stump.

In his very next over, he got rid of Vince, the opposition skipper, with an absolute corker. He swerved one in which hit the batter’s pads, with Vince being adjudged lbw. The strike left Hampshire at 19-3, with Pakistan’s Hasan Ali joined in the fun with two wickets in an over.

Anderson is the third-most successful Test wicket-taker of all-time and will be seeking to return to the England Test squad under new skipper Ben Stokes after being overlooked for the recent West Indies tour.
