Watch: Pakistan quick Hasan Ali enjoyed a memorable home debut for Lancashire, snaring six wickets on the opening day of their Division One County Championship game against Gloucestershire.

Hasan, signed up by Lancashire for six games this season, took a combined five wickets on his county debut last week against Kent, bettering it with his maiden county five-wicket haul in Manchester, and finishing with figures of 17-6-47-6.

Sharing the new ball with James Anderson, Hasan gave Lancashire their first breakthrough after a 119-run opening stand, sending back half-centurion Chris Dent. Three overs later, a Gloucestershire collapse ensued, with Hasan returning to bag Miles Hammond and Tom Lace, before proceeding to clean up the tail, dismissing Josh Shaw, Jared Warner, and Ajeet Dale across his three overs. Gloucestershire, on 131-1 at one point, lost nine wickets for 121 runs, eventually folding for 252.

Hasan was supported by Saqib Mahmood, who took wickets, with George Balderson and Matt Parkinson grabbing a wicket apiece. James Anderson,  who took the new ball alongside Hasan, went wicketless in 16 overs.
