Veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara turned his arm over for a solitary over of leg-spin on the third day of Sussex’s home County Championship fixture against Leicestershire.
In an extremely high-scoring affair at Hove, Leicestershire were 380-4 in response to Sussex’s 588 with South Africa and Netherlands internationals Wiaan Mulder and Colin Ackermann at the crease, both of whom were already past 50 at the time.
Pujara’s over was tidy enough, though his length varied considerably through the over. In the end, he conceded eight from his sole over in the attack, conceding a boundary off Mulder from the penultimate delivery.
Both batters eventually reached three figures, following on from Louis Kimber’s hundred earlier in the innings.
Pujara had bowled just 41.5 overs in first-class cricket prior to this match, boasting a surprisingly impressive bowling average of 26.16.
