Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal picked up his first wicket in the 2023 County Championship, bowling Lyndon James with a ball that spun away sharply during Kent’s game with Nottinghamshire.
Chahal, who signed with Kent last week, made his county debut on Sunday (September 10) and had his first success when he dismissed No.7 James with a dream leg-break delivery at Canterbury.
The ball pitched on the middle stump but turned away, beating James’ outside edge before it sent the stump cartwheeling, leaving the Notts struggling at 174-6, up against Kent’s 446.
Chahal has a first-class bowling average of 35.25 with a strike rate of 67.48. He is playing his 34th first-class game, having made his debut in 2009.
