Day three of Kent’s County Championship clash against Warwickshire was one to forget for England opener Zak Crawley as he twice fell to the bowling of Chris Rushworth.
Warwickshire resumed day three on 367-3 after the second day was washed out and soon made up for lost time. After quick scoring in the morning session, they eventually declared on 453-4 with Sam Hain finishing unbeaten on 165, his second County Championship hundred of the season.
Crawley fell for nought early in the Kent first innings, having been trapped on the pads by a delivery that shaped in from Rushworth.
Daniel Bell-Drummond was the sole Kent player to pass 25 as Sam Billings’ side were bundled out for 158 after which Warwickshire enforced the follow on.
Kent openers Crawley and Ben Compton were faced with an awkward eight-over spell to negotiate before stumps but Crawley fell in the sixth over of the Kent second innings, once more lbw off the bowling of Rushworth. Crawley’s second dismissal of the day to Rushworth meant that his career first-class batting average dropped below 30 to 29.92.
