Yadav was signed for the final four games of Middlesex’s season but did not play in their clash against Essex last week due to visa issues. He made his first appearance at Old Trafford in their ongoing fixture against Lancashire.
Having been bowled out for 194 batting first, Middlesex needed early breakthroughs. Josh de Caires, fresh from his eight-for against Essex, duly delivered by breaking the opening partnership. Yadav then produced a beauty to keep the wickets coming.
He tossed a loopy delivery down to Bohannon, who was on seven off 15 balls at the time, and the right-hander looked to cut into the off side. However, the ball turned profusely off the pitch, surprising Bohannon and beating his bat. Such was the sharp angle of the spin on the ball, it thudded into leg stump, having pitched well outside off.
That wicket was Yadav’s first for Middlesex and kept their hopes alive of staying in the game. Those hopes were further boosted in the following over when Du Caires struck again to dismiss Phil Salt for a duck.
