In the sixth over of the Kandy Falcons’ run-chase of 187, Haris played a fearless shot against pacer that caught everybody’s attention. With short third inside the circle, Haris cleared his front leg and reverse scooped a full toss for a six. He played the outrageous shot with the backside of his bat, making it even more remarkable.
Fernando had a smile on his face, suggesting he was in disbelief. So was Haris himself, who looked at the bowler with a chuckle.
Haris couldn't cash in on the good start as he fell for a 20-ball 26, a knock which had two sixes and a four.
In the end, the Kings edged out the Falcons by just a run in a nail-biting thriller. 17 runs were needed off the last over and Fernando just managed to take his team through. Kusal Mendis was adjudged the Player of the Match for 54-ball 105 not out. The Kings will now play the Galle Marvels in the final on Sunday (July 21).
