When will the Ireland v South Africa 2024 T20I series be played?
The series opener was on Friday (September 27), with the second T20I on Sunday (September 29). Both the matches are scheduled to be played at the Sheikh Zayed International Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The T20Is will be followed by a three-match ODI series starting Wednesday (October 2).
What's the latest team news for Ireland vs SA 2024 T20Is?
The series marks Ireland’s return to white-ball cricket after the 2024 T20 World Cup. They will be led by Paul Stirling. In a notable selection call, Andrew Balbirnie has been omitted from the squad as Ireland are looking to try out young talents. However, Balbirnie is confirmed to open the batting in ODIs.
For South Africa, the uncapped Andile Simelene, part of the preceding ODI series against Afghanistan, has been retained. Pacer Lungi Ngidi, who returned from a right calf injury in the Afghanistan series, has been included as well. Aiden Markram will captain the side.
