IPL 2026 is set to start on March 28: here are the latest injury updates from all ten teams, including the current status of injured players and replacement updates.

The 19th edition of the IPL begins on March 28 with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the season opener. Find the full IPL 2026 schedule here.

Both RCB and SRH, however, are sweating on the fitness of their respective senior Australian pacers, while Kolkata Knight Riders could be without two of their fast bowlers for the start of the season as well.

While some players picked up an injury during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, others have been carrying long-standing issues and also missed the ICC event in India and Sri Lanka. Chennai Super Kings have also suffered a big setback ahead of the new season.

All teams will naturally be hoping to get their fitness issues sorted and have their full squads ready for the upcoming season.

KKR pacer Matheesha Pathirana has been declared fit and granted the necessary NOC to play in the IPL, Sri Lanka Cricket secretary Bandula Dissanayake has told PTI.

"As far as I know, he’s fit and we have given him NOC to participate in the IPL, that’s all I know at this point of time,” Dissanayake said.

Pathirana had suffered a hamstring injury during the T20 World Cup and was doubtful for at least the start of IPL 2026. However, he now seems to be fit to be joining the franchise ahead of the tournament.

Lockie Ferguson has decided to miss the early stages of the IPL for the Punjab Kings to spend time with his family. The New Zealand pacer took a short paternity leave during the T20 World Cup but returned in four days.
